Debuchy will be out of action for three months[GETTY]
The 29-year-old, who joined the Gunners from Newcastle in July, suffered the injury during a 2-2 draw at Manchester City.
Gunners boss Arsene Wenger was unsure last week at how long the Frenchman would be out for, claiming it could be anything from six weeks to three months.
However, due to a specialist advising the need of an operation on his ankle, Wenger has been dealt the latter recovery period.

“He has had surgery and will be out for three months,” Wenger said. “A reasonable delay is three months.
“It all went well, but it can be a week or two earlier or a week or two later, but it will be around three months.
“It is a blow of course, how big it will be we will only know afterwards because it will be down to how well we replace him. We bought [Calum] Chambers for that.”
