It's understood Milan will cover half of the 25-year-old's £80,000-a-week wages.
Chief executive Ian Ayre left nothing to chance in the signing of Roberto Firmino, according to the Brazil international.
Ayre jetted to Chile during the Copa America to ensure the £29m man completed his move from Hoffenheim and even took the first photos of him in a Liverpool strip.
He said: "I wasn’t aware of any other concrete offers for me, I only know that Liverpool were the only one keen to sign me and I wanted to come here."
