He's scored six goals this season including a stunner against Barca in September to help his team climb to second in the table, level on points with Barcelona and Real Madrid.
While Barcelona had been linked with the player as a replacement for Pedro, who joined Chelsea in the summer, with their transfer embargo set to end in January.
"We can sign and shall make an effort to do so, but we have to be prudent," she told Mundo Deportivo.
"The club has made profits, it is solid and that means we can cover the players' salaries.

"FC Barcelona is financially in very good health. This is the best moment ever in the history of the club.
"There is still potential to generate even more income but things are on the right track. We shall continue to reduce the debt and capitalise the club."
But despite the intense interest, 29-year-old insists he will be staying at Celta, at least till the end of the season.
