Bastian Schweinsteiger and Jose Mourinho stand side-by-side at dinner
Jose Mourinho became well-versed with FA disciplinary procedures during his two spells as Chelsea manager - and has found himself in hot water as Manchester United boss once again.
Mourinho had until 6pm last night to respond to a misconduct charge dished out by the FA following comments he made about referee Anthony Taylor before United’s 0-0 draw at Liverpool.
It is unclear whether Mourinho has chosen to accept or deny that charge, with a fine the most likely outcome when the disciplinary commission rules on the matter this week.
Mourinho faces a fine should the FA deem the offence worthy of a general misconduct charge, like that handed to Stoke boss Mark Hughes after being sent to the stands against Tottenham in September.

Jose Mourinho may have to get used to watching Manchester United from distance
However, if insulting language and/or abusive language is included in the report submitted by ref Clattenburg then the standard expected penalty is a fine and a one-match touchline ban - if it is accepted by the manager.
That would see Mourinho miss United’s trip to Swansea on Sunday (3pm).
But should Mourinho fail in appealing that charge, then it is understood it would increase to a two-match touchline ban - meaning he could miss the visit of Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal on November 19.

Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho have a famously fractious relationship
Any pitchside absence for Mourinho would be far from ideal but United left-back Luke Shaw is hopeful it would not be too detrimental to the team.
"It's always nice to have him on the side because he likes to give information out to especially full-backs like me when I am on his side," he said.
"But of course we get to do what he wants doing the whole week so we've got him for the whole week, so there's no sort of worries if he's not going to be there.
"We'll keep strong and if he's not going to be on the sidelines, we've got Rui (Faria, United assistant manager) as well who is another very strong character as well."
