Klopp: There should have been a penalty against Man Utd
Manchester United beat Liverpool 2-1 thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford.
An Eric Bailly own goal brought the Reds back into the game in the second half but they were unable to break down a solid United defence.
Liverpool dominated the ball, claiming 68 per cent of possession, but Carragher says that means nothing if you fail to create many opportunities.
And the ex-England defender labelled Liverpool “stupid” for the amount of fouls they gave away in the second half, which allowed United to slow the game down to the pace they wanted it.

Stupid fouls Liverpool gave away second half just played straight into Manchester United’s hands
Jamie Carragher on Liverpool after their defeat to Manchester United
“Yes Liverpool had lots of the ball but Man United allowed them to have possession,” Jamie Carragher said on Sky Sports.
“I don’t look at that as great football from Liverpool. They allowed them to have possession, they didn’t look like scoring.
“They looked dangerous on the edge of the box but I don’t remember (David) De Gea making any saves. Man United allowed Liverpool to play well with the ball.
“Liverpool’s big job in the second half was to open them up and create chances and they weren’t good enough.

Jamie Carragher said Liverpool gave away stupid fouls against Man Utd
“Stupid fouls Liverpool gave away second half just played straight into Manchester United’s hands.
“The one (Dejan) Lovren did on (Marouane) Fellaini was unbelievable. He fouled him twice, his head completely gone.
“Liverpool have to bring that (streetwise football) into their game because what happened second half was that they couldn’t stop giving stupid fouls away.
“That’s when you need someone on the pitch to say ‘just keep moving the ball, there’s plenty of time and we’ll wait for our opening’, not play into United’s hands and slow the game down, which they did in the second half.”
