Simon Calder shares Europe’s fantastic destination with ‘prices from the 1980s’
Travel expert Simon Calder has recommended a lovely destination in Eastern Europe which is a fantastic cheap option for Britons.

Simon Calder has provided plenty of inspiration for British tourists looking to book a 2024 holiday.
The travel expert appeared on ITV’s This Morning to share his best holiday advice for Britons.
Simon told one viewer who was travelling solo that there’s nowhere better than Eastern Europe for a beautiful bargain holiday.
He said: “I’ve just been to Albania, to Tirana the capital, it cost me £50 for the flights. They’ve gone up a little bit but you can get there from Gatwick, Heathrow, Luton, Stansted, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, Edinburgh, loads of flights really cheap.
“And I stayed in a very nice hotel in the city centre for £30 a night, because I travel an awful lot, I just want to find good deals.”
The travel expert said that he was about to head to Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, another fantastic bargain option.
Simon added: “Just go to Eastern Europe, so many great cities, wonderful people and prices from the 1980s. There’s going to be fantastic opportunities in Eastern Europe, particularly in lovely Albania.”

Simon also recommended Malaga, in Spain’s Costa del Sol region, as a great choice for a holiday in June.
He said: “Base yourself in beautiful Malaga, it’s a fantastic city and it’s got its own beach which I love.
“Or just head down the coast to Torremolinos which isn’t very far away. Really good train link into the city centre so you can go and get all the benefits of the wonderful restaurants and so on.”
Malaga is also extremely well connected to the UK with flights going from many of the UK’s major airports.
