Sir Jim Ratcliffe may only need a few years to restore Manchester United to the summit of world football if the Glazer family sells their remaining shares, according to Dwight Yorke. But, despite Ratcliffe inheriting significant control through his 27.7 per cent stake, Yorke doesn't expect a quick fix as long as the Glazers' grip remains intact.
The 71-year-old has outlined an exciting passion project after his £1.3billion investment in United became official in February.
He is the club's biggest individual shareholder and has been handed the keys to the entire operation, having initially inherited control of the football side.
The United fanbase were desperate for the Glazers to sell up during the year-long strategic review. And despite Ratcliffe's promising start, many won't be content until the American family cashes in completely.
One of the primary criticisms of the Glazers' 19-year rule has been the lack of investment in Old Trafford and the wider infrastructure around the iconic stadium.
Fittingly, Ratcliffe, his INEOS confidants and the task force in charge of overseeing a redevelopment of Old Trafford were present at last Sunday's 1-0 defeat against Arsenal.
As a relentless thunderstorm consumed M16 in the latter stages of the match, shocking videos showed the stadium essentially flooding from unsafe leaks in the roof and even the walls.

It was a reminder that Old Trafford - the biggest club stadium in the country with 20 league titles in its trophy cabinet - is no longer fit for purpose, with little movement made to address it until Ratcliffe's arrival.
Yorke has described the farce as an embarrassment but is excited and optimistic about United's future under the INEOS regime.
"I think it's clear. It's been well-documented that everyone wants the Glazers out," Yorke told Express Sport on behalf of Crypto Casino.
"As players, you're not too concerned about too much outside of football; you just turn up, win matches, get paid, and you go home. You're not really involved in too much of the logistics.
"But looking from the outside and listening to everyone who has been associated with the football club, we've seen with our own eyes that the stadium needs redevelopment.

"To see that sight [the flooding vs Arsenal] at the biggest club in English football, that was an embarrassing moment for us.
"But I have to say, under the new leadership of Sir Jim Ratcliffe, I'm very excited. I see how he conducts his interviews; the intentions are clear, and we probably won't be too far away.
"I would say, if the Glazers remain there for a while, then I think it'd take another five years until we climb back to the top.
"But if the Glazers go and Sir Jim continues to do what he says he's going to do, I see us having a massive turnaround in three years' time, provided we get the right manager in place."
