Giovanni's career news comes after he confirmed he will be taking a "little break" from performing after a hectic few years. His schedule has been jam-packed since he joined the cast of Strictly in 2015, while he has also been touring the UK since 2016.

The TV star's well-deserved break will come after his new tour next year. Giovanni shared a photo of the poster for The Last Dance, which kicks off in January 2025.

He penned the caption: "I have had a wonderful time this year on my solo tour and already looking forward to even bigger and better next year! He urged fans to purchase their tickets now as he won't be announcing another tour for the foreseeable.

Giovanni added: "After performing in front of over half a million people for seven years in a row, I plan to take a little break after next year’s tour, so book your tickets in advance for ‘GIOVANNI - THE LAST DANCE’."

Doubt was cast over Giovanni's future on Strictly following his reported fall-out with Amanda Abbington. The actress, 52, abruptly pulled out of the BBC competition midway through the 2023 series.

The Sherlock star announced she quit for "personal reasons'' and said she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder after her time on the show. Amanda reportedly requested footage from rehearsals before a number of Giovanni's former partners came forward and spoke about their experiences working with him.

It is unknown whether Giovanni will appear in the 2024 series, with a BBC spokesperson saying: "The professional dancers for 2024 will be announced in due course."
