Kimberley Walsh, Cheryl, Nadine Coyle and Nicola Roberts will make their highly anticipated return to the stage tonight, May 17, with The Girls Aloud Show arena tour. The band, which was formed on Popstars: The Rivals in 2002, are performing for the first time since Sarah Harding’s death from cancer.

The show kicks off in Dublin and consists of 30 shows dedicated to Sarah’s memory and a “celebration” of Girls Aloud’s music.

Speaking to Express.co.uk, Kimberley, 42, said the tour will be “crazy” and “fun”, and shared how she will cope with being away from her three children.

Kimberley shares three sons with her husband Justin Scott, who she married in 2016. They are: Bobby, six, Cole, four, and Nate, two.

The BBC Morning Live presenter said: “The more children you have it undeniably gets more difficult, but it is also really important for me to work and for them to understand that.

“You have to learn to say no and I have definitely done that a lot more since having kids.

"If it’s going to not really be a great thing for the family, then it would be a no from me now. I just try to choose the things that will work with the set-up that we have got."

That being said, Kimberley admits that doing the tour is a "curveball" as going back on stage won't be "the easiest thing to do with three children".

She continued: "Weighing it up, it’s also a life experience that they are never, ever going to get again.

“I’m hoping that the whole family will join for a couple of weeks in the middle. Nate will turn three while we are on tour so we’ll have to make a big fuss of him."

The Bradford-born star said a "massive part" of why she agreed to the tour is because her sons have never experienced a gig before. For them seeing their mum on stage, she admits it might be a bit "mind-blowing", adding: "It’s a bit of a crazy one but fun.”

Kimberley’s bandmates Cheryl and Nadine also have children. Cheryl welcomed Bear, seven, with One Direction singer Liam Payne in 2017. Nadine has one daughter, Anaiya, nine, with her ex-fiance Jason Bell.

Kimberley has been flooded with support from her Morning Live co-stars and several of them will be coming to watch the shows in various locations.

“I am [missing Morning Live], they are all texting me like, ‘Ahh you’re not back’, but I will obviously be back [on the show] at some point.

“I love that show, it is doing so amazingly well and I feel really privileged to have been a part of it from early on.”
