Williams' pregnancy fears on first Field date
ROBBIE WILLIAMS and AYDA FIELD's love story almost ended before it had begun - the pop star was eager to get rid of the actress on their first date because he thought she was pregnant.
The pair have been together for four years and wed in a small ceremony at their home in Beverly Hills on Saturday (07Aug10).
But Williams admits they didn't get off to the best start - Field turned up at his house tipsy after a pool party and was wearing an ill-fitting dress, prompting the Angels hitmaker to presume she was expecting.
He tells Hello magazine, "So she walks into the house and I think, 'She's pregnant.' And she's had a few wines so she had this real attitude. Now because I've been in L.A. so long, I'd got it into my mind that there are no good women in L.A. - maybe pretty women, but they're all crazy and it's not a sound gene pool to swim in. I thought she was another crazy.
"I suggested we go back to the party she came from, basically so I could drop her off and drive home. We were chatting in the car and she said something funny and made me laugh so I decided to go into the party for ten minutes."
And the singer reveals it was only later that day that they really hit it off - and he knew he'd fallen for Field when he saw her in a sexy bikini.
He adds, "(The party) was on billionaires' row and everyone there is a billionaire, several times over. So I walk in... with my popstar head on, with all these strange billionaires slotted around. I felt a bit scared and held on to Ayda. We sat next to each other on a sofa and at that moment we fell in love.
"Later in the evening, when the party got really crazy, with people in the jacuzzi, she changed into a Bond style Ursula Andress bathing suit. I thought, 'Holy f**k! That pregnant lady is fit!"
