London crime is surging and we need a criminal barrister to take charge, says ROGER EVANS

In over 25 years of public service, from my early days in Waltham Forest council to my tenure as Deputy Mayor of London, I have always held firm to the belief that strong, innovative leadership is the cornerstone of a thriving, prosperous city.

Today, as London grapples with a crime surge, housing affordability, and a growing disconnect between City Hall and everyday Londoners, that belief holds truer than ever.

For so many, London has been a city of opportunities but rising crime and unaffordable housing are threatening that vision.
So I am throwing my full support behind Moz Hossain to become London Mayor.

Moz is no stranger to the realities of our city and the complexities of the law.

His extensive background as a Criminal Barrister and King's Counsel gives him the unique insight and experience we desperately need in the Mayor's office.

I believe he is the best person to take charge of the escalating crime situation, with concrete, actionable strategies drawn from years of legal practice. But there's more to Moz.

His commitment to address the housing affordability crisis shows his understanding of the broader societal issues at play.

I am confident that he will roll up his sleeves and work relentlessly to get houses built, ensuring that every Londoner has access to affordable, quality housing.

What sets Moz apart is his ability to connect with Londoners from all walks of life, even those who might not typically lean conservative.

He is as comfortable relaxing with the market traders of Tower Hamlets as he is representing clients at the High Court.

His vision for London transcends political divides and taps into the shared hopes and aspirations we all have for our great city.

London is a city of boundless potential, but it is in desperate need of a leader who can steer it back onto the right path.

I believe that Moz Hossain is that leader. He has the wide appeal the Conservatives need to wrestle the mayoral seat from Sadiq Khan and he's the leader that our fantastic city needs to thrive.

In my various roles in London politics, including as Deputy Mayor, I've witnessed at first-hand the difference effective leadership can make.

I urge you to join me in backing Moz Hossain for Mayor – for the sake of the Conservative party, but above all, for the future of London.
