Star Wars 8 first clip: Is this EXACTLY what footage reveals? Leia, CRASH, more
STAR WARS 8’s first footage was finally revealed yesterday - albeit to a very small room-full of people. But what exactly was in it?
Carrie Fisher's General Leia was seen in the clip
Last night it was reported that fans will see Rey (Daisy Ridley) handing Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) his old lightsabre, after the cliffhanger end of Episode 7: The Force Awakens.
An apparent insider on forum TheForce.net seems to have provided a clearer vision of exactly what was seen.
The list begins with “Luke in a hut on Ahch-To asking Rey ‘who are you?’”, before cutting to scenes including “Finn in a First Order uniform on the bridge of a Star Destroyer (or other big ship)”, “General Leia”, “Several shots showing Rey spinning her lightsaber in practice” and “Captain Phasma”.
There’s also seemingly a look at “Chewie roaring”, “Poe in his X-Wing cockpit yelling ‘It’s now or never’ to BB-8” and “ships flying in space”.
Rey was seen approaching Luke with his lightsabre at the end of Episode 7
Finn was also allegedly seen on-camera
Finally, and perhaps most excitingly, there is apparently the sight of “an X-Wing coming in for a crash landing”.
The clips were shown to shareholders in Denver yesterday, with Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg and Twitter chief executive officer Jack Dorsey in attendance.
A reporter for the Los Angeles Times was also in the room, leading to the news leaking out.
Daniel Miller tweeted: “One last thing on the Last Jedi footage: We saw all sorts of settings -- mountains, oceans, forests, deserts. Look suitably epic, exotic.
What will happen between Rey and Kylo Ren in the next chapter?
Eighth Star Wars instalment is The Last Jedi
“Since ppl are asking: General Leia Organa was onscreen for just a second in military garb and didn't speak.”
A first trailer is expected to land around the same time as the Star Wars Celebration event in April - an event that seemingly will not be held in 2018.
Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi is out on December 15.
