Prince Harry could use loophole to become US citizen and keep his royal titles
EXCLUSIVE: There is a way for Prince Harry could become a US citizen and keep his royal titles, an immigration lawyer told the Daily Express.
Prince Harry could retain his royal titles even if he becomes a US citizen, a US immigration lawyer has claimed.
New York-based immigration lawyer Gita Gorji, referred to Article I, Section 9, Clause 8 of the US Constitution, which reads: "No title of Nobility shall be granted by the United States:
"And no Person holding any Office of Profit or Trust under them, shall, without the Consent of the Congress, accept of any present, Emolument, Office, or Title, of any kind whatever, from any King, Prince, or foreign State."
Speaking to Daily Express US, Ms Gorji said: "With this clause, the drafters of the Constitution looked to fortify our country’s government as a republic and their notion of equality without classes."
She added: "As you can see, there is nothing in the Constitution that specifically requires a naturalising citizen to renounce all foreign titles."

"If Prince Harry decided to take the long journey to become a U. citizen, he could, theoretically, make the argument that the requirement he renounce his titles would actually be unconstitutional."
Ms Gorji continued: "Unless he were to hold public office, the US Constitution only specifically forbids the US government from granting titles of nobility...
"It says nothing about titles conferred by foreign governments."

Levin says Meghan copyrighted Lilibet name before birth
"A perfect example of an American citizen with a foreign title of nobility is Prince Harry’s daughter, Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor," says Ms Gorji.
She added: "Lili was born in Santa Barbara, California so she is a US citizen at birth."
Both of Harry's children, Lilibet and Archie, hold royal titles but are thought to also be US citizens.
