Chocolate enthusiasts are excited after spotting Cadbury's latest confectionery creation on the shelves. However, some have spotted a 'problem' with it.

The iconic brand has tantalised taste buds by launching new Cadbury Caramilk Crunchie Bites, now available at discount retailer B&M.

Yet, despite the buzz, some shoppers have voiced a 'problem' with the new treat, pointing out that the actual chocolates bear little resemblance to their depiction on the packaging.

Described as 'Caramilk caramelised white chocolate bites with scrumptious honeycomb pieces', the product stirred debate among members of the 'Food Finds UK' Facebook group after an image of the bites was posted, sparking comments about their appearance not matching the packet's illustration.

One disgruntled customer remarked: "They look completely different to the packaging."

Despite some complaints, the anticipation for the new sweet treat remains high, with one eager fan exclaiming: "I need these ASAP." Another queried excitedly: "Are these real? Omg I want them."

Others joined in the chorus of approval, with one saying: "These look lovely," and another adding: "Actually sounds really nice."

The news comes after Cadbury announced earlier this month that it had axed its Dairy Milk Orange bars. It seems like the brand had quietly discounted the product in January this year with fans only realising that it has just gone.

Another shopper supported this observation, stating: "The two items don't even look alike?? Second picture looks like truffles."

Further grievances were aired regarding the price, with one person lamenting that the bites cost '£3 a bag' and bemoaned the quantity, claiming there's 'hardly anything in them'. Reports suggest that each 120g bag contains 14 of these caramelised white chocolate honeycomb delights.

Another individual, meanwhile, said they'd prefer to see a white chocolate Crunchie bar on the shelves instead.

Commenting on the backlash, a Mondelēz International/Cadbury spokesperson said: "Consumers may notice that our Cadbury Caramilk Crunchie Bites look a little different to the image on pack, they but can expect the same delicious taste they know and love.

"Please note Cadbury Caramilk Crunchie Bites are a product from other markets and are not sold directly by Cadbury in the UK. We are always listening to our fans to ensure our range of products reflects their changing tastebuds and we have our own product innovation pipeline in the UK, so watch this space for delicious new Cadbury treats coming soon!"
