Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk TV channel, PPV price, how to watch

ANTHONY JOSHUA has revenge on his mind next weekend when he takes on Russian powerhouse Oleksandr Usyk.

Anthony Joshua ‘desperate’ to win Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Heavyweight Anthony Joshua takes on Oleksandr Usyk in a re-match with the British fighter bidding to reclaim the three world titles the Russian won from him last year. Joshua has been made to wait for his revenge 11 months with negotiations delaying the bout as well as Usyk joining the war effort in native Russia.

However, the pair will meet on August 20, in Saudi Arabia at the 62,000-seater King Abdullah Sport City Stadium. When the pair met in September, Usyk won on points after shocking the former Olympic champion in front of 70,000 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London.

There is an added incentive riding on Saturday’s bout with the winner rumored to be facing Tyson Fury next with British boxing fans hoping for it to be Joshua. AJ has not fought since their last meeting and could face a very different prospect in Usyk who has reportedly gained 15 kilograms since their last showdown.

Amir Khan recently joined the Usyk camp and supported video evidence that former undisputed cruiserweight champion is now very much a heavyweight. “He looks like a full-on natural heavyweight. He is big and looks very strong,” Khan told Seconds Out

“He nowhere near looked like a cruiserweight he looked like a nice full blown-up heavyweight, he was strong at the weight, when he was hitting the pads and stuff and you can see the definition on his body. He’s very thick and you can see it’s solid muscle that he’s got.”

However, Usyk’s weight increase has raised questions whether he can replicate the same speed and manoeuvrability which beat Joshua last year.

However, Usyk’s weight increase has raised questions whether he can replicate the same speed and manoeuvrability which beat Joshua last year. The fight will be shown live in the UK on Sky Sports Box Office costing £26.95. Joshua had signed a deal with streaming giants DAZN after his defeat to Usyk in September.

However, Sky Sports claimed the UK broadcasting rights. The Joshua fight action is due to start at around 11pm British time. For those unable to watch the fight live Sky Sports Box Office will also be showing repeats at 8am and 3pm the following day (Sunday, August 31).

Joshua will be keen to prove Dmitriy Salita wrong who declared that the British fighter had been on the decline since his April 2017 victory over Wladimir Klitschko. The Ukrainian professional boxer turned promoter says that he doesn’t see a way ‘AJ’ can beat Usyk and believes his best days are behind him.

“Usyk is the better fighter, and I just don't see how AJ can make the adjustments to beat Usyk, I don't see it," Salita told BoyleSports Boxing. “Usyk is a very experienced fighter, had a tremendous amateur career, and is an Olympic gold medalist.”
