Eden Hazard to Real Madrid: Zinedine Zidane makes Gareth Bale comment relating to Chelsea
REAL MADRID boss Zinedine Zidane has hinted that he will try and sign Chelsea’s Eden Hazard by admitting the Belgian and Gareth Bale can play well together.
Eden Hazard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid since last summer but a deal could not be agreed before the end of the window.
Throughout this season, though, Hazard has continued to insinuate that this campaign with Chelsea would be his last.
Zidane returned to the Bernabeu in March following nine months away from the club after quitting last year.
Hazard has made no secret of his admiration for Zidane in the past - a man the 28-year-old has called his footballing idol growing up.
Reports in Spain in recent weeks suggest that Hazard has agreed a deal to move to the Spanish capital in the summer but as of yet, nothing has been confirmed.
And when asked whether Hazard could play well with Bale, who has his own transfer dilemma to sort out, Zidane gave a positive response.
“All the good players can play together,” he said.
“People before said I could not play with Djorkaeff. Do you remember? What craziness.
“The idea is to have more strength in attack next year. We will see what happens though.”
On Bale’s future, Zidane remained coy, before noting that the situation is up to Bale.
The French player-turned-manager also had time to talk about his plans for the Real squad heading into next season.
“Bale is happy, he has had minutes with me. In the end we will see what happens, but I am not to say what Gareth should do,” Zidane added.
“He is a player in our squad, and will play between now and end of season.
“I know clearly what I want to do. The players, the profiles, what I want to do for next year.
“We are working on it. But we still have four games left. Then we will see.”
Hazard’s Chelsea have a big game on Sunday against Manchester United - a clash they have to try and win to keep up their top four hopes.
