Liverpool: Ajax are preferable final opponents says Nicol
That’s according to Sky Sports man Kaveh Solhekol who has given Tottenham fans a reason to be optimistic ahead of the second leg clash with Ajax tonight.
Kane has travelled to Amsterdam with the squad and while there has been speculation he could make a shock appearance, he is unlikely to be fit for tonight’s second leg at the Johan Cruyff Arena.
“He was there while Spurs were training so I think he’s getting closer and closer to being fit,” Solhekol told Sky Sports News.
“If Spurs were to get to the final against Liverpool, I think there is a good chance he could be fit for that.
“But lets not look too far into the future, today it is all about Ajax and the game tonight.”
Kane has had a nightmare second to the season, stretching back to January when he damaged ankle ligaments when to Tottenham lost 1-0 to Manchester United.
He made a goal scoring return to the side at Burnley and helped the team reach the Champions League quarter-finals.
But bad luck struck again in the second half of their last night clash with Manchester City, when he rolled his ankle under a strong challenge from Fabian Delph.

Mauricio Pochettino said last month that the star could be back fit for the final, should Tottenham make it to Madrid.
“My gut is maybe he can be available [for the Champions League final], because I know Harry Kane, the determination to work and to be focused and recover as soon as possible,” he said.
“But I am not a doctor. This is only my gut.
“I hope he can be available. He’s doing well but today I cannot guess. He can be available before or after – that is going to depend on his rehab.
