Man United: Solskjaer needs to do 'great recruitment' says pundit
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed a key element of his transfer strategy as he prepares to delve into the summer market.
United are set to be active in the upcoming window after a disappointing end to the Premier League season meant that Red Devils will once again contest in the Europa League next season.
Solskjaer has lost six of his ten games since being handed the permanent reins in March, and made it clear that he will only be signing players that have a certain 'attitude'.
The Norwegian told United's official app: "We've tried to educate our players and our kids to be proper people. In my view, the best players have always been the best people.
"You have to have that value system and a certain kind of attitude about you to make a Man United player.”
Antonio Valencia and Ander Herrera are expected to be followed out the Old Trafford exit doors by several first team players over the next few weeks, with Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez tipped to leave.
Solskjaer will know that his current crop of players are not able to contend to win a Premier League title, and he is aware that fans will demand an improvement on league position next season.
He continued: ”You have got to have the qualities and our fans want to see exciting players.

"Of course we want to get up from our seats. We want to see defenders who defend like they're doing it for their lives - that's the most important thing.
"When we start games [against big clubs], our fans clap a striker making a tackle. It's always been in our culture.
"You have to have that work ethic and we're scouting the market, trying to find the right ones."
Swansea winger Daniel James looks set to be the first incoming at United, however, Solskjaer has refused to be drawn into transfer speculation regarding individual players.
