Liverpool hero Steven Gerrard and Man Utd ace Phil Jones trolled as England win World Cup
LIVERPOOL legend Steven Gerrard and Manchester United defender Phil Jones were trolled on social media after England won the Cricket World Cup against New Zealand yesterday.
The final went to a Super Over after both teams were level on runs after 50 overs, before England subsequently won the match.
Jos Buttler had the final touch after running out Martin Guptill. An image of the Black Caps batsman falling short of his crease, while Buttler stumped him, circulated online.
But, inevitably, internet users took it upon themselves to edit the image, at the expense of Gerrard and Jones.

The Liverpool captain slipped during a crunch clash against Chelsea in their Premier League title-challenging campaign of 2013/2014.
Jones was also edited into the image, with the picture showing him falling over, which trying to catch up with Harry Maguire.
Manchester United have reportedly agreed a fee with Leicester for the transfer of Maguire; a deal that would surely move Jones further down the pecking order at Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes’ face has been spotted superimposed on an image of Robin van Persie’s famous ‘flying header’ goal.
The Netherlands star scored a diving header for the Netherlands in the 2014 World Cup, during their 5-1 demolition of Spain.
During the Cricket World Cup final, Stokes also dived to make it into his crease during the final over of England’s innings.
The ball was thrown toward the wickets while he was running in an attempt to run him out, but it accidentally struck his bat while he was diving, securing an extra six runs for England.
