Frank Lampard believes Chelsea’s transfer ban is partly to blame for the team’s woeful home record this season.
The west Londoners are currently serving a two-window transfer ban for breaking FIFA regulations regarding the signing of foreign players under the age of 18.
Chelsea’s inability to sign players has meant the likes of Mason Mount, Tammy Abraham and Fikayo Tomori - who were on loan at Aston Villa and Derby County respectively last season - have been able to break into the first team.
The young Blues have yet to taste victory at Stamford Bridge this campaign, drawing with Leicester City and Sheffield United and losing to Valencia last Tuesday.
Lampard is disappointed with Chelsea’s abysmal home record and firmly believes it’s a byproduct of him having to field so many youngsters at once.
"No home wins we want to change and I believe we will if we play like that," he said.
“The reality is younger players have come into the team. We lost two number 9s we had last year and we can't change that.

"People say the [transfer] ban is a bad thing for Chelsea and in the short term, of course, but in the long term if we can have a vision, with the likes of Tomori, Mason, Tammy.
"Hopefully it will be really good for us but in the short term there might be occasions with things like today happen.
"Performance wise we were the better team. We had more energy in our game, character and spirit. That’s why the crowd applauded at the end. Let's take this forward.”
Lampard will be hoping his men will pick up their first home victory of the season on Wednesday night when they welcome League Two side Grimsby Town to Stamford Bridge in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
