Man Utd not meeting Sancho asking price is 'bizarre' says Cross
Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments on transfer business suggest a January pursuit of Jadon Sancho isn’t entirely out of the question. The Borussia Dortmund star was the Norwegian’s top target during the summer window. But the Red Devils ended up swooping for Edinson Cavani instead.
They spent the entirety of the summer transfer window attempting to haggle with Borussia Dortmund, even reserving the No 7 shirt for the England international.
In the end, however, United missed out. Rightly or wrongly they believed Dortmund’s £108million asking price to be too big and, consequently, walked away.
Interest, though, remains strong.
United still feel Sancho is a player worth chasing, despite the Dortmund star enduring a rocky start to the current Bundesliga season.
Speaking before his side’s Champions League clash with PSG, Solskjaer was asked about transfer business and the likelihood of any happening in the New Year.

United star Marcus Rashford recently talked up his friend, admitting he thinks the Dortmund star can become world-class in the years to come.
“It would be good [if Jadon Sancho joined],” Rashford told Bleacher Report.
“Sancho is a great player. He’s like the new generation player. It’s definitely exciting to watch the player he’s becoming — hopefully we can all play together.
“That would be good. He [Jadon Sancho] plays off the cuff. He’s imaginative.
“I think in this generation, they’re the things you need to be world class.”
Meanwhile, in other United transfer news, Solskjaer recently hailed James Garner for his loan performances at Watford.
The 19-year-old departed for Vicarage Road and has made 13 appearances so far, helping the Hornets to fifth in the Championship table.
And Solskjaer said: “In the FA Cup, you can get drawn away from home in every single round, like we were last season, and it adds to the load for the players, so to get a home draw is always good.
“Of course, we could have had an easier draw, but we’ll take a home one. We know Watford are in a good moment.
“We’ve got Jimmy [Garner] there and he’s played well for them this season. We’ve been following him.”
