Tottenham: First six fixtures of 2021/22 Premier League season
Tottenham may face a challenging obstacle should they reignite their interest in Ajax manager Erik ten Hag this summer. The club's head coach search is ongoing after a series of failed negotiations and changes of direction.
Ten Hag has been linked with the vacant Spurs head coach job since the club sacked Jose Mourinho in mid-April.
However, when interest in his services was highest, he signed a one-year contract extension at Ajax until 2023.
Spurs then seemingly moved onto other targets, but after numerous failed rounds of talks with different candidates, Ten Hag could be back in the picture.
Fabio Paratici's arrival as managing director of football could also prompt the club to reignite its interest in the Ajax boss.

And football.london report that Ten Hag was interested in the role before his new deal at Ajax and remains intrigued even after putting pen to paper.
It's said however that Spurs did not follow up on their interest in the coach after initial discussions with him.
And the report adds it would be tough for the north Londoners to convince Ajax to part ways with Ten Hag so close to pre-season if they were to go back for him.

Long story short, the situation surrounding Mourinho's successor is still as unclear as it was the day the Portuguese native was dismissed.
Antonio Conte, Fabio Paratici and Gennaro Gattuso have all been close to the role, but negotiations crumbled in the late stages on each occasion.
It still seems like there's plenty of time to find the right candidate, but when Euro 2020 concludes next month, Spurs will want a new head coach in place.
If the club is still without a name by that time, when we'll be a month away from the Premier League season, then panic will set in.
