Antonio Conte continues to be linked with the Manchester United job. The former Chelsea boss remains the frontrunner to succeed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, should the United hierarchy call time on the Norwegian’s tenure at Old Trafford. And his potential arrival could be good news for one United outcast.
Solskjaer is set to take charge of the weekend’s Premier League fixture at Tottenham, but another negative result would bring him closer to the exit door.
Conte is currently without a job having left Inter in the summer following a two-year spell with the club.
The 52-year-old guided Inter to their first Scudetto in 11 years, putting an end to Juventus’ dominance of Italian football in the last decade.
Should Conte take any future managerial post at Old Trafford, then United fans will be hoping the Italian boss can deliver the same success he did with Inter, Juventus and Chelsea.

Morale is extremely low in the camp at United as they continue to deal with the aftermath of the 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool on Sunday at Old Trafford.
Not only would Conte bring a renewed sense of optimism on the squad as a whole, but several players would benefit from the new boss.
And none more so than Donny van de Beek, whose Old Trafford nightmare gets worse by the week.
After making just four Premier League starts last season, the Dutchman sought to put that behind him and underwent a dramatic body transformation over the summer in preparation for the new summer. But the hard work hasn’t paid off in the slightest.

Van de Beek has played just four Premier League minutes in ten league games so far this season, coming on for the final part of the game in the 4-1 victory over Newcastle last month.
And fans are still left wondering why the highly-rated £35million Dutch star continues to be frozen out by Solskjaer.
Van de Beek has started just once in the EFL Cup a month ago at Old Trafford, when United were dumped out after a disappointing 1-0 defeat against West Ham.
The 24-year-old also suffered the embarrassment of being hauled off at half-time in the defeat to Young Boys in United’s group stage Champions League opener.
