Barcelona star Xavi writes off 'anti-football' Celtic
BARCELONA star Xavi has likened Celtic to European champions Chelsea, claiming: “They both play anti-football.”
The Nou Camp maestro fuelled the fires before the Spaniards arrived in Glasgow for Wednesday night’s Champions League tie.
“People rightly consider that Celtic use an anti-football system, but Chelsea have done the same and they are now champions of Europe,” said the midfielder.
“Celtic were uncomfortable rivals for us in the Nou Camp and they might be again because they do not like to attack.”
Xavi then spelled out the only plan in Barca’s minds.
“If we win in Glasgow the door is open to the next round so the three points against Celtic would allow us to be calm ahead of the last two games,” said the 32-year-old.
“But we need to be careful because the Scottish team can be a danger in our area. We need to beware of that.

“And we know what the atmosphere will be like because Glasgow is a paradise for football but we are all experienced players and it will not worry us.
“The Barcelona dream is to win this trophy.”
