Like a number of Dortmund players, Sven Bender made a good impression against Real Madrid
Manchester United are also interested in Bender's team-mate Robert Lewandowski, who is rumoured to be close to a move to Bayern Munich.
But according to the Metro, the Red Devils and Manchester City are considering Bender after scouts were impressed with his recent performances for Jurgen Klopp's side, although City have also watched the 23-year-old.
A dominant display in Dortmund's midfield during their midweek 4-1 win over Real Madrid has heightened interest from the English clubs.

Bender is a defensive midfielder with experience in the German national team, having earned three caps so far.
United were previously linked with a move for his twin brother Lars - who plays for Bayer Leverkusen - also a central midfielder.
However, it appears that Sven - despite having nine less international caps than Lars - is set to be targeted by both United and City this summer.
