The 27-year-old still has 15 months left to run on his deal at the Britannia Stadium but the Potters want to ensure he remains in the Midlands.
And chairman Peter Coates has revealed he wants to resolve Begovic’s long-term future as quickly as possible.
“We will be working hard to convince Asmir to sign a new contract before the end of this season,” said Coates.

Asmir Begovic is wanted by Spurs
“He’s got a year left after this summer and we have to be realistic, we don’t want to get into a situation where his value diminishes if he doesn’t sign.
“There are no problems between Asmir and the club and we are obviously keen to extend his contract here with us.”
Begovic, 27, joined Stoke from Portsmouth in 2010 and has since made over 150 appearances for the club.
