Manchester United want Atletico Madrid defender to partner Mats Hummels
MANCHESTER UNITED are plotting to pair Atletico Madrid youngster Jose Gimenez with Borussia Dortmund star Mats Hummels next season, according to reports.
Spanish media claims that Louis van Gaal is eager to snap up the Uruguay international following his recent impressive performances under Diego Simeone.
It is believed that a deal for Germany international Hummels is already in the works, and that Gimenez could be the man to partner him at Old Trafford next season.

However, Atletico apparently have no intention of parting ways with the 20-year-old centre-back after reportedly snubbing a £17million offer from Manchester City in January.
Despite the current La Liga champions' stance, it is reckoned that United won't be deterred in their pursuit of Gimenez, although it is added that both Miranda and Diego Godin could be possible alternatives.
