Falcao, who is on a season-long loan deal with the Red Devils, has struggled for form this campaign, managing just four goals in 27 outings.
United have yet to make a final decision over whether to turn the Colombian's loan deal into a permanent £43million switch, and recent reports have linked him with a switch to Liverpool.
But according to Manchester Evening News, De Gea could hold the cards in terms of whether Falcao stays.
They suggest that Falcao's future is closely intertwined with that of De Gea's.
Falcao and De Gea are both represented by super agent Jorge Mendes.
