Arsene Wenger refuses to throw in the towel as Arsenal focus on Tottenham showdown
ARSENE WENGER is adamant Arsenal can’t give up on the Champions League despite their mauling against Bayern Munich.
The Gunners’ chances of qualifying for the last 16 of the competition are minimal after a 5-1 defeat at the Allianz Arena this evening.
Wenger’s men now face a daunting task at home to arch-rivals Tottenham in the Premier League on Sunday (4pm).
Though Wenger claims Arsenal won’t give up on the Champions League, he insists his side must bounce back strongly in the north London derby.
“No matter what percentage we have, we have to dig in for the chance to qualify,” Wenger told the club’s official website.
“We now have to focus on the Premier League on Sunday and bounce back with a different performance because we are in a good position in the league.
“It’s important that we realise what we did today and we know that.”
