Newcastle are lining up a move for Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick.
The England international is out of contract this summer and United have yet to begin talks over a new a deal.
And, according to Sportinastorm.com Rafa Benitez wants to bring Carrick to St James' Park.
However they also report that three other clubs are interested.
Newcastle are in the relegation fight and Carrick is unlikely to swap Old Trafford for the Championship, so their hopes to sign him will hinge on staying up.
