Tonight they were convincingly outplayed 4-0 by Manchester City.

“Of course we are going to try and make those signings,” Gold told BT Sport before kick off.
“We have started making signings as you can see.
“We were the fourth biggest spenders in the Premier League in the window.”

Marseille welcome back Dimitri Payet from West Ham
Asked about how Payet’s departure had affected the West Ham squad, Gold said: “It’s stronger in the sense that the morale is great now.
“There was a period of time a couple of months where that morale was reducing. We had to make that decision.
“We didn’t want him to leave - we were desperate to keep him. The manager wanted to build the team around Dimitri but sadly sometimes it becomes impossible.
“You do everything you can and then you suddenly realise this isn’t going to work, you have to bite the bullet and you have to say this is the end.”
