Jose Mourinho prefers Alvaro Morata to Romelu Lukaku but wants both strikers at Manchester United
Mourinho is still prioritising Morata over the former Blues hitman
However, according to The Guardian, Mourinho is still prioritising Morata over the former Blues hitman.
Mourinho has worked with both players in the past during his time at Stamford Bridge and the Bernabeu.
And despite having sold Lukaku while at Chelsea, he would certainly offer the Manchester United boss proven Premier League quality in front of goal.
The Belgium international netted 25 times in England's top flight last season, while Morata bagged 20 goals in all competitions.
But he struggled for regular game time at Madrid, resulting in him looking for a move away.
Morata would also prove a cheaper acquisition for United, as Lukaku is set to cost a world-record fee.
United are expected to have to pay more than the £89million they spent on Paul Pogba last summer.
Morata, meanwhile, is more likely to be around the £66m mark.
Jose Mourinho has been chasing the former Juventus star for the majority of the summer, and it is said he remains a more important addition than Lukaku.
