LeBron James has been told that this season will only be about personal records, with the Los Angeles Lakers predicted to struggle once again after suffering an opening day loss. The Lakers were second best in all facets against the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday night, with Steph Curry and company dominating offensively.

Coming off the back of a hugely disappointed year in which they only won 33 games, the Lakers know that they cannot go through the same type of season and expect the team to be together, with many questioning whether they should trade their assets and rebuild the team.

And UNDISPUTED host Skip Bayless has told James that this season will only be about personal achievements for him, taking a jab at the Lakers as well as the 37-year-old himself, indicating that he'll be looking to pad his stats this season.

After the game, Bayless tweeted: "LAKER NATION: Get used to this: LeBron just put on a 4th quarter show in what had become a Warriors blowout. This season is all about Passing Kareem."

James will overtake Lakers legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar on the NBA's all-time scoring list this season with the 37-year-old being 1,294 points away from doing so. If he keeps up his pace of averaging 30 points per game, he will overtake Abdul-Jabar at the mid-season point.

Bayless hit out at James by telling Laker fans to get used to this, insinuating that he expects their regular season struggles to continue after the team did little to improve their roster this past summer.

The Lakers will experiment with their line-ups, using Anthony Davis in a new role as well as potentially seeing Russell Westbrook coming off the bench in an attempt to make the playoffs this season.

But it looks like it could be another long season for the Lakers, something James would not like to settle for.

James performed admirably in the loss, scoring 31 points and adding 14 rebounds and eight assists - with the latter number being much higher had his teammates been able to make shots.
