Warwick Davis' harrowing premonition about wife's tragic death after hospital dash

Warwick Davis has opened up on the heart-breaking death of his wife as he previously admitted a hospital dash left him thinking about life without her.

The Tenable presenter, 54, announced that his wife of over 30 years, Samantha Davis, died on March 24, as he penned in a statement: "My wife and soulmate, best friend. Devoted mother. My favourite human. My most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career, has passed. Her passing has left a huge hole in our lives as a family. I miss her hugs,” he announced in a statement.

Samantha who died aged 53, has left behind her beloved husband and their three children. Her exact cause of death has not been shared, but the ITV star explained that her mobility had deteriorated in recent years.

The Harry Potter actor said that her ability to walk had become significantly impaired in recent years. However, Samantha fought so hard and was "determined” to carry on.

He said that she was “determined that it would not impact her quality of life and limit what she did and was able to achieve." Back in 2019, she battled Sepsis which was a major factor during her struggles.

The family were enjoying a caravan holiday when she was rushed to hospital.

Warwick previously said: "The next few hours were the longest of my life as I waited on the ward with our children in the empty space left by Sam's hospital bed. I hoped it would not symbolise a future for us without her."

It is believed she contracted the deadly bacterial infection after undergoing decompression surgery on her spine – which is used to treat compressed nerves in the lower spine.

Warwick announced the devastating news in a public statement and expressed the huge loss his family are battling with.

He described his late wife as his "most trusted confidant and an ardent supporter of everything I did in my career".

"She was a unique character, always seeing the sunny side of life she had a wicked sense of humour and always laughed at my bad jokes," he continued. Their children, Harrison and Annabelle, also honoured their late mother, stating that her "love and happiness carried us through our whole lives".

They said: "Mum is our best friend and we're honoured to have received a love like hers."

Before her death, Warwick and Samantha enjoyed a night out together and posed for a snap on social media.

In October, the actor uploaded a picture on his Instagram to his 137,00 followers of the pair smiling at the camera. It read: "A long overdue date night with my beautiful wife. She felt a bit overdressed for McDonald's!"
