Liverpool have reportedly agreed a deal for Fabio Carvalho to join Hull City on loan for the remainder of the season. The youngster had been starved of game time during a recent spell at RB Leipzig, and Jurgen Klopp is hoping that the player's new arrangement will put things right.
Carvalho tore up the Championship with Fulham under Marco Silva, racking up 10 goals back in 2021/22 when he was still a teenager. His stellar showing in the second tier saw Liverpool part with £5million at the end of that campaign.
The versatile attacker initially showed signs of promise, netting three goals in all competitions last season. But senior figures at Anfield took the decision to send him out on loan this term, joining Bundesliga heavyweights RB Leipzig.
It didn't pan out as expected, however. Managing only one league start, Carvalho failed to notch a goal or assist in 14 appearances across all competitions, and the disastrous season-long loan was cut short.

With the likes of Darwin Nunez, Luis Diaz and Cody Gakpo already fighting out for minutes in attack - not to mention Mohamed Salah when he returns from the Africa Cup of Nations - the Reds have opted to send Carvalho straight back out on another temporary deal.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, the 21-year-old is waiting for the green light to travel east after agreeing to join Hull for the rest of the campaign.

The Tigers are currently seventh in the Championship and one point outside of the play-off spots as Liam Rosenior targets promotion to the top flight. Carvalho's loan switch is not believed to include an option to buy for the second-tier side.
Klopp's hope for the arrangement is reportedly a simple one - for the forward to bank valuable minutes. Carvalho's brief but impressive Championship experience should see to that as Hull gear up for a frantic play-off push between now and the end of the season.

Fellow Liverpool outcasts Nat Phillips and Rhys Williams have also been brought back to Anfield this winter, with their loan spells at Celtic and Aberdeen respectively failing to bear fruit.
The Reds are yet to make any permanent signings of their own, and Klopp has suggested that his side should be able to cope without talisman Salah by deploying players in different positions.
"We have different options and we can change the system," the German explained. "When Mo is playing it makes sense that we play a specific way so that he can be in his favourite position, he deserves that and he helps us there the most. But when he’s not there we have to be creative and maybe we will be."
