Tottenham team news: Predicted XI vs Wolves as injuries force Postecoglou into changes

Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will have to make at least a couple of changes vs Wolves due to injuries.

Ange Postecoglou will be without both Destiny Udogie and Pedro Porro for this afternoon’s visit of Wolves as the Tottenham boss is forced to shuffle his pack. Express Sport runs through Spurs' likely starting line-up at the London Stadium as they search for a third win in four games.

Goalkeeper – Vicario

Guglielmo Vicario has become a regular in the Tottenham goal but is without a Premier League clean sheet since before Christmas. The 27-year-old Italian has played 24 times since signing from Empoli in the summer. Postecoglou will hope the goalkeeper stays fit after Fraser Forster fractured his foot in training and could be out for a ‘couple of months’.

Defence - Royal, Van de Ven, Romero, Dragusin

Right-back Pedro Porro suffered a strain in training so is unavailable for ‘a couple of weeks’. Brazilian Emerson Royal has made seven starts and nine substitute appearances so could come in as Porro’s replacement. The absence of Udogie, who is unavailable after picking up a knock, could result in Postecoglou going with three at the back against a Wolves side short of goals.

Whether Postecoglou is tempted to go to a back three is uncertain after opting for a back four recently. January signing Radu Dragusin could be drafted in as part of a reshuffled Tottenham defence to make his first start.

Midfield – Betancur, Sarr

After beating Brighton last weekend Postecoglou could go with an unchanged defensive midfield pairing of Pape Sarr and Rodrigo Bentancur. Senegalese midfielder Sarr scored the equaliser against Brighton but either midfielder could lose their starting place to Yves Bissouma.

Bissouma came off the bench last weekend replacing Dejan Kulusevski so could come in as one of the holding two players or a more forward three behind Richarlison. The Mali international made his return following the African Cup of Nations but is likely to be benched for Sarr and Bentacur.

Forwards - Kulusevski, Maddison, Son; Richarlison

Son Heung-Min came off the bench in last weekend’s dramatic victory over Brighton after returning from the Asian Cup. The Korean forward is set to start his first game since December and add to his 12 goals this season.

German Timo Werner could make way to allow Heung-Min back into the starting line-up in the right side of attack. Werner has played just four games this season and could be dropped to the bench. Maddison and Kulusevski have been key performers this season and will very likely start, while Richarlison cannot be left out given his rich vein of form; he has netted nine goals in his last nine Premier League matches.
