In-demand winger Pedro Neto could miss the rest of the season through injury, boss Gary O'Neil has confirmed. It means the Portuguese may have played his final game for the West Midlands outfit, with , and several other top sides believed to be eyeing up a summer move.

Wolves have reportedly slapped a £60million price tag on Neto, whose haul of nine assists this season leaves him fourth in the Premier League charts. Injuries have become a recurring problem for the 24-year-old, however, and he suffered his second hamstring issue of the campaign against Fulham earlier this month.

With supporters waiting patiently for specifics, O'Neil delivered bad news after his side's painful FA Cup quarter-final defeat against Coventry City on Sunday.

"Pedro, it’s potentially the end of the season for him – very similar to the injury he suffered on the other side," he said. "There’s a chance he gets back for the last couple of games if it goes really well.

"It was nine weeks last time, it could be quicker, it could be a bit longer. It didn't feel serious at the time but if there's any tendon involvement, the rehab can take a lot longer. He's still young and he's devastated. It's important we get him back right."

If the Gunners or Spurs have their way, O'Neil may not get Neto back at all. The north London duo are joined by Liverpool and Newcastle United in keeping track of the wide man as the summer transfer window draws nearer.

Wolves are reportedly hoping to bank more than the £53m they raised through selling Matheus Nunes to Manchester City last summer. Whether yet another injury setback prompts Neto's suitors to think again remains to be seen.

The Portugal international was snapped up from Braga as a teenager and he has since racked up 14 goals in 134 Premier League appearances. Neto's blistering pace makes him a tough customer for top-flight defenders and he could soon be destined for a move that takes him to the next level.

Tottenham already have plenty of stars competing for minutes out wide but Bryan Gil may be moved on this summer and Timo Werner's loan is yet to be made permanent.

Arsenal have fewer high-class options by comparison, although Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli would prove tricky to displace on either flank. Wolves are under no immediate pressure to sell Neto this summer as he has three years remaining on his contract.
