Tottenham have been 'poor' for all of 2019 says Hislop
Chelsea fans believe the club have taken a “subtle dig” at Tottenham with a reference to a Bob Marley song.
The Blues’ official website looked back at 1977 when Marley and The Wailers were living at 42 Oakley Street, which is a short walk away from Stamford Bridge, recording the Exodus album.
The Jamaican group would also spend their spare time playing football with the locals and even attending games at the Bridge.
However, it has been jokingly suggested that the reggae legend was in fact a Tottenham fan and that Spurs' trophy drought was his inspiration behind the Exodus track ‘Waiting in Vain’.
It is usually said, however, that Marley was a Spurs fan

That is seen as a possible swipe at Spurs’ failure to win a trophy since their League Cup victory in 2008.
A post on Chelsea's official site read: “It has also been suggested the Jamaican attended games at Stamford Bridge while at Oakley Street. It is usually said, however, that Marley was a Spurs fan. Perhaps that was the inspiration for another ‘Exodus’ track – ‘Waiting In Vain.’”
A fan shared the post on Reddit and captioned it with: “Official website taking a subtle dig at Spurs.”
That Marley reference left Chelsea supporters in stitches as they agree the club is just trolling its London rivals.

And a third commented: “Hmmm. First track on Catch a Fire is called '400 years'. Could be a reference to the usual gap between trophies for Spurs? Not sure, more investigation needed perhaps.”
