Escape to the Country's Jules Hudson admits 'good to be back' after break from filming

Escape to the Country presenter Jules Hudson recently announced that he would be taking a break after reportedly becoming "burnt out."

Jules Hudson returns to filming on Escape to the Country

BBC presenter Jules Hudson has shared that he is back filming for Escape to the Country, after taking a much-deserved time out. The 54-year-old previously shared that he would embark on a 12-week furniture making course.

Taking to Instagram, he uploaded a video of himself announcing that he is back on the road with the rest of the film crew. Speaking into the camera, he said it was lovely to have the team back together.

He added the caption: "It’s great to back on the road, Escaping to the Country. We have been filming so far in Cornwall and catching up with some old friends!

"If you’d like our help finding your new country life this year, get in touch. Head to my stories for a link to apply to be on the show."

Many of his 61,000 followers were delighted with his return and flocked to the comments section. One person said: "You all have a great time. You produce some very enjoyable programs."

A second chimed in: "Good to know there will be more episodes to watch down the line!" as a third person commented: "Absolutely love the show, never miss it. Looking forward to some new beautiful locations."

The daytime TV presenter previously told Lyme Regis and Bridport News that he would be taking a step back from Escape to the Country after becoming "quite burnt out".

He told the publication: "Late last year, I realised I was quite burnt out and needed a creative and emotional reset. My wife said: "Why don't you take some time out and go to the Boat Building Academy?"

"I thought about it, and it dawned on me - what am I waiting for? So, I investigated the courses here at the BBA, saw the 12-week furniture making course and took the jump and enrolled."

However, he plans to continue working on Escape to the Country. Speaking to Express.co.uk last year, he said: "I hope to do Escape to the Country for as long as I'm able and for as long as the show will have me.

"It's a massive step for lots of people, so having the chance to share that, that experience, those tips and tricks, it's very much a way of life for me."
