Chelsea have sent their scouts to watch Sporting forward Viktor Gyokeres for the third time in as many months, according to reports. The 25-year-old has been ripping it up in Portugal since leaving Coventry City at the end of last season and his prolific form is said to be attracting Premier League interest ahead of the summer months.
Gyokeres has scored 36 goals in all competitions for Sporting this season, establishing himself as one of the most in-form strikers in Europe in the process. Chelsea are keen admirers of the Sweden international and recently sent scouts to watch him for the third time since the end of last year, according to Record.
It is said that Chelsea representatives were in attendance to run the rule over Gyokeres during Sweden's defeat to Portugal on Thursday. He started the match and scored a goal but was unable to prevent his side from slipping to a 5-2 loss on the night.
Gyokeres was previously watched by Chelsea while playing for Sporting against Porto and Benfica, with the Blues using their scouting missions to ‘take note’ and ‘dispel doubts’ about a potential summer move. They are said to be 'tightening their grip' on the forward before acting on their interest with an official bid in advance of the upcoming window.

Chelsea were previously linked with a move for Gyokeres in January, but nothing materialised and he ended up staying in Portugal. He remains tied down to Sporting until the summer of 2028 and is thought to have a release clause of around £86million written into his contract.
Gyokeres recently played down the growing speculation around his future, insisting the noise is not something that he ‘takes too seriously’. He told Swedish media: "I don’t think much about it now actually, I want to win the league and the cup with Sporting. That’s where I’m putting all my energy and strength.

"It’s a sign that I’ve been performing well but it’s not something I take too seriously. It’s just speculation, but it’s good and fun to talk about. We’ll see what happens in the summer. I don’t know what will happen but I really like Sporting and I don’t feel stressed at all for what’s to come."
Chelsea have been linked with a number of other strikers ahead of the summer window, including the likes of Napoli forward Victor Osimhen. The 25-year-old has openly admitted that he would like to play in the Premier League at some point and is thought to have been admired by the Blues for some time.
